The New Levites – studio photo session

I recently had a studio photo session for the New Levites music band. We played with combinations of darkness and light, hard and soft contrasts and expressions. Below you may find some of the results.

Oasis man

When I think of relaxing times, I often remember this picture of a local man in Africa drinking his coffee at the shadow of a house surrounded by palm trees in the middle of an oasis. He is protected from sun heat, he has food and water so he’s got all the reasons in the world to be fulfilled with complacency.

Open-air musician in Vienna

The Viennese Festival Weeks, founded in 1927, is a cultural festival that takes place annually for 5 weeks in May and June. However, open-air concerts may be found all-year round in places such as Schönbrunn Palace Gardens and performers like the one I captured in the photograph below may be admired on sunny days.

Jessy Dixon in concert

The words printed in the International Herald Tribune summarize the Jessy Dixon experience: “No where else in the world will you find such a delightful, pure, and honest performance, ingeniously combining brilliant vocalizing and high energy excitement, as when you listen to Jessy Dixon.”

I took the photographs at one of Jessy’s concerts with original stage lighting only.
